Withdrawal Policy
Students may officially withdraw from their courses with a W grade up through the 75% point of the course. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of the dates. During the semester, due to holidays, the withdrawal date could fall on a Saturday or Sunday. If that happens, students or faculty can only withdraw the from class using the Self-Service card in myDACC, as DACC offices are closed.
Students should always check with Financial Aid and their advisor before withdrawing from a class to determine the impact.
The deadline is based on the class start and end dates. Please note that refunds are NOT given for withdrawals.
Please remember that it is the student's responsibility to withdraw themselves from any classes using the Self-Service card in myDACC or through the Admissions or Advisement offices.
Non-attendance does not automatically withdraw a student from a class. It is the student’s responsibility to withdraw one’s self. Students should contact the Admissions & Records Office or their academic advisor by phone or in-person to withdraw officially. If students are receiving financial aid, they are encouraged to seek counseling prior to withdrawing from coursework, as this may affect their financial aid eligibility. Failure to do so may result in the student owing refunds to Federal and/or State programs and result in restrictions for future student aid. Owing a debt to the school results in restrictions for future enrollment. Student-athletes should also consult with their coach before withdrawing.
