Disability Services
The office of Disability Services assists all qualified students with documented disabilities. Students are required to register with the office and identify their needs to be eligible for academic accommodations. All services are customized to address individual needs. We are here to help students reach their educational goals. Students are responsible for identifying themselves as having a need for academic accommodations due to a disability, providing documentation, and requesting accommodations each semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer).
Steps to Get Started:
- Contact the Testing & Academic Services Center to complete an official “Request for Accommodations.”
- Provide the Disability Services Office with all requested and appropriate documentations
- Meet with the Disability Services staff to complete an interview process.
- Complete the “Semester Request for Academic Accommodations” form every semester.
For accommodations to be in place when classes begin, students are encouraged to meet with Disability Support Services at least four weeks before the beginning of each semester. For additional information on services available, please contact the Disability Services Office through the Testing & Academic Support Center in Cannon Hall, 1st Floor (Rm 103) or at 217-443-8708 or TTY 217-443-8701.
Please be aware that the accommodations and services are provided in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
