BMGT 104 Interpersonal Relationships

The course focuses on identifying strategies and techniques essential for professional success. The course will feature content that explores the many dynamics of personal communications, individual personalities, work styles, and company culture influence on the workplace environment. Personal communications will also include the impact of an individual's social media communications and impact to professional image. Students will study the variety of personal interactions in one-on-one situations, groups, and online. The course content explores research-based psychology and management principles, as well as newer theories and philosophies of human relations drawn from management theory, group theory, personality theory, and relationship theory. Course discussion will include how effective human relations skills are crucial to business success as organizations grow and compete in a global business environment. Students will gain understanding of the importance of developing the knowledge and skill to adapt to a workplace where change is frequent and inevitable.
