MRKT 108 Retailing and Merchandising
The course introduces the student to the area of retailing-the broad scope as well as the specific activities in which different retailers are involved. The student is introduced to the ever-changing world of retailing including traditional institutions (supermarkets, convenience, department, discount, and specialty stores) that have been joined by category specialists, superstores, hypermarkets, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, off-price retailers, catalogers, and the ever growing category of online retailing. Students will apply retail management fundamentals to activities and case studies. Students will explore current and future trends in retailing and implications to their career.
