NURS 195 Maternal-Child Health Nursing
Foundational preparation for the provision of nursing care to the individual with maternal-child health needs. Instruction and supervised clinical experience provide understanding of the ways in which to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the family, women/maternal health, peri-natal, and post-natal periods, as well as the child from birth through adolescence. Emphasis is on: Maternal health and illness, gynecological health and illness, labor and delivery, postpartum care, newborn care, and growth and development of children and adolescents in the hospital and community environments. (Course includes theoretical, skills lab, and clinical components.)
