SONO 115 Abdominal Pathology
This course is designed to introduce the sonography student to pathologic processes of abdominal, gastrointestinal, and superficial structures. This course will cover laboratory findings associated with pathologic processes, common sonographic appearances of such pathologies, possible associated findings, critical findings, and the role of the sonographer in emergent situations. Students will continue to be educated on machine care, sonographer duties, patient care, abdominal examination protocols, superficial structure examination protocols, and normal versus abnormal sonographic appearances of such structures. Students will be required to prove competency scanning an abdominal complete examination upon completion of this course.
