SONO 117 Obstetrics and Gynecology II
This course is designed to introduce the student to pathologic processes of the female pelvis, including the gravid uterus during first, second, and third trimesters and abnormalities of the embryo and fetus as well as maternal disease processes. Content discussed will include associated laboratory tests, sonographic appearances, Doppler evaluation, chromosomal abnormalities, etiology of such pathologies, and possible treatment plans. Students will be required to prove competency an obstetric 2nd trimester growth examination upon completion of this course to remain enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
